Biography

David Burdo brings more than 20 years of experience in law, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement to his role with Chance Sports. Based in West Michigan, David has held leadership and consulting positions with several nonprofit organizations, including the YMCA, Gracious Grounds, Homes Giving Hope, and Nonprofit Nav, where he specialized in strategic planning, board development, and fund development.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, David grew up playing hockey and football—experiences that taught him the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance both on and off the field. He continued his passion for the game at Butler University, where he played ACHA hockey while earning his Bachelor of Science in Business. Those lessons learned through athletics have shaped his leadership style and commitment to fostering growth in others.  He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law and remains passionate about helping organizations and individuals reach their full potential through collaboration, strategy, and mission-driven leadership.

David and his wife are proud parents of two children who have both been deeply involved in youth club sports, including hockey, soccer, and volleyball. As a longtime youth hockey coach and former board member with the Lakeshore Amateur Hockey Association, David has seen firsthand how sports can shape character, build confidence, and create lasting community connections.
